SONG LENGTH

Songs should be no more than 4 minutes long. Why do we limit to 4 minute songs? Because we plan for 5 minutes per student. 1 minute to get on and off stage, and 4 minutes to perform.

HOW TO PICK A SONG

Students do not need to pick a "new" song. If a student has a well prepared song in their current repertoire, that song (or exercise) could be a great candidate for performance. Remember, the song may feel "old" to the performer, but the song will be brand new to the audience.

PERFORMANCE TYPES

Students can perform solo, with their teacher, play along to a recorded song, or even play an exercise out of their method book. The goal is to get students up on stage and perform in front of a live audience however they want to perform!
