{{contact.first_name}} We Are Not So Different, You and I

Feb 06, 2025 12:47 pm

Hi ,

Let's face it. We've all been there; those moments where we question our existence as creatives, those moments where we ask ourselves questions like:

"Who send me message?"

"Why is mine so different?"

I'm bringing back memories, yh?

A few years ago, I sat in my parlor, staring at the ceiling, convinced I was the only person on earth who felt stuck.

The self-doubt, the endless confusion that set in, the fear that my work would never measure up—it all felt incredibly isolating.

Then, one night, I reached out to a seasoned creative and in our conversation, he shared a story about his own burnout.

He said something that really stuck with me: “The things we think make us alone are the very things that bind us.”.

I mean, this is someone with over 20 years of experience as a creative, complaining about the same exact thing I was complaining of.

That moment cracked something open. I realized we’re not so different, you and me.

We all wrestle with the same ghosts: imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and the dreaded blank canvas (or an empty frame waiting for that perfect shot).

We’ve all Googled “How to Overcome Creative Blocs” at 2 a.m. or panicked when a client proves to be a little difficult.

A Little About Me

My name is Okedeji Omọ́tẹ̀ṣọ́ (but you can call me Tẹ̀ṣọ́). It basically means "A Child Worth More Than Treasures". I’m a photographer by trade and the one who started this interesting community called "The Creatives Discuss".

I’ve spent countless nights chasing the perfect light, reworking shots until sunrise, and yes, even deleting entire drafts in frustration.

I know the highs and lows of this creative journey because I live it every day. The community I’m building isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about coming together and saying, “Me too” without judgment.

What’s Next?

Right now, our family is 129 creatives strong, and the dream is to reach 1,000 by next week.

I need your help to spread the word. If you know someone who’s ever felt stuck or needed a reminder that creativity isn’t a solo sport, please forward this email or tell them to sign up using this link: https://sendfox.com/okedejiomoteso
