Yesterday Was International Day for Failure… Let’s Talk About It.

My personal Person,
How do you do today?
(If you don't respond me and you would fight ''inserts bombastic side eye")
But yeah, I do hope you are doing great today?
Yesterday was International Day for Failure.
And it got me thinking about something personal—something every creative has probably felt at some point.
A while back, someone told me,
“Your pictures look better and more cinematic every time.”
That single comment meant the world to me.
Because, truthfully, I’ve often found myself swinging between being incredibly excited about a project one moment and then questioning my entire skill set the next.
It reminded me of something we often forget —
While it’s important to strive for growth in our craft, it’s just as important to
pause and appreciate how far we’ve come
But remember,
Before that comment
It wasn’t always like this.
Starting out, I failed a lot.
(I still constantly receive a lot of L's)
I got discouraged.
I gave up — more than once.
There were times I questioned whether I was even cut out for this journey.
So, it feels almost poetic that there’s a day dedicated to failure.
Not to glorify it, but to recognize what it gives us:
- Perspective.
- Experience.
- Resilience.
Failure forces us to slow down and see what we missed.
It challenges our assumptions.
It pushes us to refine, rebuild, and rise again.
Now, A Note to You, Fellow Creative.
Wherever you are on your journey, take a moment today to do three things:
- Grow—Keep learning and experimenting.
- Pause—Reflect on how far you’ve come.
- Appreciate the steps, the stumbles, and the stories that shaped you.
Because every setback carries a lesson.
Every mistake holds a message.
And every failure is just a stepping stone to something better.
So here’s to you, —the dreamer, the builder, the creative who’s still showing up even when it’s hard.
You’re not behind; you’re becoming.
Keep building.
Keep learning.
Keep telling your story.
With creative love,
