Hi ,
Last night, rain hammered my roof like it was auditioning for a percussion gig.
It probably hammered on your roof too
I sat at my desk, staring at the ceiling hearing my supervisors voice loud and clear over and over again “Revise your methodology. This doesn’t work.”
My first reaction?
“But I’ve spent WEEKS on this!”
Heck, I've even defended the first Three Chapters.
I then remember this saying I once stumbled on the streets of Social Media,
"When you realise you are in the wrong train, get off at the next stop. It's better to do that than to see where the train leads."
Or something in that line.
In summary, what the quote is trying to say is that once you've realised your on the wrong path, it's better and cheaper to trace back your steps than to keep going on the same path you've realised is a wrong path.
Then I did the unthinkable: I deleted everything and started from scratch.
Well, I didn't exactly delete everything but I did delete most of my work.
Turns out, the problem wasn’t my ideas—it was my foundation and my approach (Methodology).
Here’s Why This Matters for You
Maybe you’re stuck right now:
- A design that feels “off” but you can’t pinpoint why
- A client project that’s become a tangled mess
- A creative block that’s lasted longer than your last NEPA bill
Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is go back to square one.
Your Invitation
1. Reply and tell me:
- What’s one project, habit, or idea you need to rebuild from scratch?
- What’s stopping you?
2. Join the WhatsApp Community (starting TOMORROW!) for raw convos on:
In one of the previous mails, I announced that there's a WhatsApp group/Community for you and I to meet, network and interact with other creatives.
Besides this, the aim of the group is to have things like;
- regular check up calls.
- having consistency partners who would help each other attain goals.
Lastly, maybe just maybe you'll eventually leave your single hood and get to meet a significant other.
Words on the street says that somehow I've been the cause of 2-3 marriages.
(Yes, there's proof)
jokes apart you really should join the WhatsApp group though I really would like to see the beautiful and handsome faces to your name.
Looking forward to having those great conversations with you.
Sincerely,
- Okedeji Omótèsó
