The Author’s Journey

May 18, 2026 6:59 am

Hello Family,

Every one of us is writing a book with our lives. Some chapters are filled with joy, while others are marked by struggle. We often want to hide the difficult chapters, but those are exactly the parts that others need to read. Your story is not just a record of your past; it is a map that can help someone else navigate their future.

When you share your journey, you give others the permission to believe in their own.

A Lesson from My Book: Growth is Personal

Writing my memoir, Growth is Personal, was one of the most vulnerable things I have ever done. I had to go back to the chapters of my life where I felt small, overlooked, and confused. I had to write about the years I spent wondering if my dreams would ever leave the four walls of my home.

I realized that if I only shared my successes, I would be a person on a pedestal. But by sharing my "Author’s Journey"—the fears, the late-night studying, and the moments of doubt—I became a guide. I wrote this book because I wanted other women and young leaders to see that growth isn't a magic trick. It is a series of intentional choices. My story serves as a map to show you that you can start exactly where you are and still reach a destination of impact and fulfillment.

A Story from the PDAC Foundation

At the Pdac Foundation, we use storytelling as a core part of our curriculum. We don't just give children textbooks; we share stories of world leaders, and real Africans who overcame obstacles to build great things.

We are teaching the next generation that they, too, are the authors of their own destiny.

This Week’s Challenge

Think about a challenge you have overcome in the past year. Who around you might be facing that same challenge right now? This week, share a "chapter" of your story with them. You don’t need to be an author to be a guide.

Keep growing,
