FINDING YOUR VOICE

Apr 27, 2026 6:01 am

Hello Family,

Many people look at a speaker on a podium and see confidence, but they don't see the journey it took to get there. "Finding your voice" isn't about having a loud microphone; it's about having a clear message that comes from deep within your soul. It’s about moving from the background of your own life into the spotlight of your purpose.

Your voice is the vehicle for your impact, and the world is waiting to hear what you have to say.

A Lesson from My Book: Growth is Personal

In my book, Growth is Personal, I am very honest about the fact that I wasn't always the confident speaker you see today. For a long time, I struggled to express the wealth of knowledge I had inside. I was held back by a lack of self-confidence, timidity, and shyness. I had so much to give, but my "voice" was trapped behind my own fears.

The shift happened when I embraced Personal Development. I realized that while my spiritual growth was strong, I needed to grow my mental and character muscles to actually deliver my message. Here are three keys from my journey to help you find your voice:

  1. Preparation is the Parent of Boldness: I found that the more I read and studied, the more "authority" I felt I had to speak. When you are full of knowledge, you don't have to "find" a voice; it overflows out of you.
  2. Vision Overcomes Shyness: In my book, I share that when your vision is big enough, your shyness becomes small. I became a speaker not because I wanted to be seen, but because I was so dedicated to the purpose of empowering African children that I couldn't stay silent anymore.
  3. The Power of Affirmation: I had to literally "speak" my voice into existence. I began declaring affirmations like, "I speak positive and empowering words always" and "I am excited about the person I am becoming". Your voice starts in your private conversations with yourself before it ever reaches a podium.

"When you understand your purpose and have a clear vision for your life, your fears become less important. Even if you’re shy, fulfilling your purpose will cause you to step into your spotlight without fear."

This Week’s Challenge

Identify one place where you have been staying silent even though you have something valuable to contribute—it could be a meeting, a family discussion, or even on your social media. This week, make a conscious decision to share your perspective. Remember, your "piece" is necessary for the world's puzzle to be complete.

Keep growing,
