Peace be upon you,

I've wanted to send this email some days ago but one thing or the other kept pushing it back. Here's it is at last.

As a Self-Publishing Expert who helps her clients to upload and publish their books on Amazon and other platforms, I monitor whatever goes on on Amazon to ensure I share updates that will affect my clients' royalties.

The current update is that amazon shall increase their cost of printing hardcover and paperback books from 20th June 2023.

Why is this important?

This is important because you might lose all or some of your royalties if you don't increase the price of your book before 20th June 2023.

For example, if your paperback book on Amazon is $14.99 and the present printing cost which is $2.23 goes up to $7, your royalties will be affected after Amazon removes $7 for printing, and $4.4 (based on 30% royalty share) for Amazon.

After deductions, your royalty becomes:

$14.99 minus $11.4 = $3.4

In some cases, where the book is less than $14.99, you might get a zero royalty.

What to do about it.

Go to your Amazon bookshelf to change all your paperback and hardcover book to a price that is 50% of your present price plus the present price to cushion the new printing cost.

Here's how to do it.
