We hope you've had a great week! Please see below our following updates on our Pharmacy Tech CE event & Call for Preceptors:
1) Pharmacy Technician CE Event by IPA
The Indian Pharmacists Association (IPA) and the Orange County Pharmacists Association (OCPhA) have partnered together to offer a day of learning specifically for pharmacy technicians. This event will be in Anaheim on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 8am-12pm. The cost of this event will be covered by IPA (CE credit and lunch is included) for all IPA or OCPhA members.
Pharmacy technicians…this is an event specifically for you to help you with your professional development. This year, we will have a panel of speakers who are employers/managers/supervisors responsible for hiring and promoting technicians. They will be speaking about the qualities, skills, and experiences they look for in technicians and discuss examples of how they have elevated technicians into leadership positions.
Again, the cost of this event is covered for all IPA and OCPhA members.

Technicians, I would encourage you to ask your pharmacists if they would be open to sponsoring your OCPhA membership. Pharmacists…this is an opportunity to show your technicians how much you appreciate them. Please also consider signing them up for CPhA membership (OCPhA membership is included) so that they can continue to participate in these OCPhA-hosted events throughout the year. Events like these align with our goal of supporting our pharmacy technicians in their professional development and their contributions to the success of the pharmacies they work in.

2) Mid-Autumn Children's Festival
Our local Vietnamese Pharmacists Association (VPhA) is looking for preceptors to volunteer for their upcoming health fair on Saturday September 30th. Please see details below:
Date: Saturday, September 30th, 2023 (2:30-8:30pm)
**2 SHIFT OPTIONS AVAILABLE** 2:30-5:30pm & 5:30-8:30pm
Location: Westminster Civic Center Sunken Gardens (8200 Westminster Blvd, Westminster, CA 92683)
Services will include blood pressure screening, diabetes screening, and brown bag counseling/health education. We are currently seeking preceptors at this time. Please sign up below if you are interested!
