Hi Friend,

This is Melin from NYisMyBackyard and it’s January here in New York - we’re well into the Winter season! ☃️

This just may be the first full winter I’ve spent in NY for about five years, since I usually escape somewhere warm🌴. But this year, staying put and giving Winter a warm welcoming embrace. 

I’ve managed pretty well in the below-30°F ❄️ weather we had last month (December 2025) and enjoyed our first snow fall of a projected snowy season this year. “Winter in NYC can be snow joke” 😂

I enjoyed the first snow with a walk to Prospect park… wonderland-ful! 

If you happen to be around New York or are a local. Visiting one of the main parks in one of the boroughs after a snow fall it's a definite must & highly recommended. And something I’d love to keep in mind as a thing to do every winter. I especially love how snow sets a calm tone for the city and creates a clean slate before things inevitably turn slushy. Ah, the NYC life!
