🎨 LIFE LESSON OF THE WEEK

Here’s my simple go to strategy wherever I feel stressed and overwhelmed.

1. Make a list of the things that are overwhelming you.

Put everything down on paper, whether it's worries, tasks, or something else.

This gives you the clarity you need to figure out what your demons are and helps you figure out what to work on first.

2. Prioritise things on a to do list.

You are probably feeling overwhelmed because you have too many things to do and do not know what order to do them in.

To fix this, make a list of everything you need to do and how important it is.

Then, do what you can now and put the rest on a schedule for later.

3. Focus on one of them at a time.

You might think multitasking helps you get more done.

Well, it does not really.

It only makes it harder to get things done and makes you feel more stressed and overwhelmed.

So don't try to multitask.

Focus on one thing at a time.

4. Take breaks.

Taking breaks by walking in nature can release mood boosting hormones that reduce stress.

So if you're feeling overwhelmed, go outside for a walk for at least five minutes; it can make you feel a lot better.

📙 BOOK RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK.

The subtle Art of not giving a F*ck

The title of the book may put you off, but don’t let it. This book is filled with life-changing gems. I remember reading it when I was at one of my lowest points, and it really helped me get out of that spot.

It is a classic self-help book that talks about how to live a more meaningful life in a very unusual way. Here are five personal takeaways from the book:

a. Embrace Your Values: The book stresses how important it is to figure out what your core values are and spend your time and energy on things that really matter to you.

So think about your values and priorities, and make sure your actions match them. This will lead to a more fulfilling life.

b. Accept Failure and Suffering: Manson tells his readers to accept that failure and suffering are inevitable parts of being human.

Do not be afraid of failure. Instead, look at it as a chance to grow and learn. We often find our greatest strengths when we are in difficult situations.

c. Choose Your F*cks Wisely: The book encourages you to be selective about what you care about.

Not everything is important enough to get your time and energy. Focus on the things that are most important to you and let go of the things that aren’t.

d. Take Responsibility for Your Life: Manson says that each person is responsible for his or her own life and happiness.

So, realise that you have the power to make choices and take charge of your life. Don't blame your problems on things outside of your control; instead, take steps to improve your situation.

e. Live in the Present Moment: This book encourages people to be mindful and live in the moment instead of always focusing on the future or the past.

Enjoy the ride, because true happiness is often found in the present moment.

P.s. The book takes a straightforward approach and uses explicit language to make its point.

However, the main message is that you can find meaning and purpose in your life by making deliberate choices and focusing on what really matters to you.

🎥 YOUTUBE VIDEO OF THE WEEK

I learned a system for remembering everything | Matt D'Vella

This video is for anyone who struggles to remember what they read.

This was exactly for me because it was something I was struggling with.

Every time I read a book, I always wondered why I couldn’t remember anything I read. Then, this video helped me realise why.

I wasn’t taking any notes.

It doesn’t sound so groundbreaking, but just taking notes has been a game changer for my memory and recall.

In the video, Matt talks to Ryan Holiday about how he remembers what he reads. Ryan's system involves taking notes while he reads, going back to those notes and revising them, and then putting them into different categories and filing them.

The video talks about how this system helps improve memory by making it easier for the brain to process and remember information.

It stresses how important it is to enjoy reading and to start out without trying to remember everything perfectly.

If you want to remember more of what you have read, you should watch it.
