👩‍👦 A powerful lesson about life from my mother.

imageThis one lesson my mother taught me has really changed my life.

But before I tell you the lesson, let me share a little about myself.

For the majority of my life, I’ve preferred to do things on my own.

I have always been an introvert who liked to figure stuff out by myself.

But my mom was never like that.

Whenever we were together, especially in situations we were unfamiliar with, she would never hesitate to ask someone for help.

If she was using an app, in a city, or working with a device that she was not used to, she would always ask for help.

Then one day, while we were in a new city, I saw her asking a total stranger for help with directions, which was something that made me so uncomfortable to do at the time.

And after we got the help from the stranger, she then looked at me and said,

“If you want answers to something, Nurain, always ask.”

I know it sounds so basic, but think about how often we ask for help when we clearly need it.

Most times, we just let our egos or fear of rejection stop us from doing it.

But here’s the thing: There’s almost always someone out there who can help you.

Even if the person you ask doesn’t help you, what are you supposed to do?

Ask someone else.

So never forget that “If you want answers to something, always ask.”

🏞️ EVENT OF THE WEEK

So, this past weekend, on December 17th, I organised my first boys-only event in Abuja, and I have to say, it was a blast! 🤯

It was definitely one of my highlights of the year. In case you missed it, let me give you a brief summary of what went down.

The first activity we got them engaged in was yoghurt making, key-holder and gym bag designing, bead making, and bottle designing, just to get their hands busy.

We then proceeded to the hall for the first talk by me on confidence. After that, they took a short tea break before the next talk on strengthening your faith.

Shortly after, we played a few games like pop the balloon, cash out, scissors games, and more.

Then we prayed and ate lunch (there was so much food, I must say 😂).

After that, they went back to the hall for the third talk. Then, when that was over, they played blind football and prayed when they were done.

Next, I interviewed my brother, who was there to share some fitness tips and advice, and then he proceeded to demonstrate some workouts that the kids can engage in at home.

The end.

I actually handed out some surveys for them to fill out and give their honest feedback on the event, and believe it or not, we had a 90%+ satisfaction rate. Wild 🤩

I really look forward to the next one. If you want to know when the next one will be and are looking to be a part of it, you can click the link below.
