🪦 What will they say when you die?

“If I were to die tomorrow, would I be remembered?”

This was a question a friend of mine asked the day my grandpa passed away.

I remember that I wasn’t in the country. My mother tried to reach me, but technology had a knack for failing at the worst times. So my brother, whom I was living with, got the news first, and from the moment I looked at him, I knew - Grandpa had left us.

Then I ran to my phone to call my mom, and her strength surprised me. She was filled with gratitude for the life Grandpa lived and the impact he left behind. It's a lesson I won't forget.

Soon after, a friend called to offer her condolences. Then she asked something that has stuck in my mind ever since: “If I die tomorrow, will people cry? Will they remember me?”

For a lot of us, the thought of death can seem so scary, yet we all know it's inevitable. We all know we're going to die one day, so what are we afraid of? What we really fear is coming to the end of our journey, looking back, and realizing we didn't make the most of it. That we didn't love enough, didn't give enough, and didn't truly live.

So I find myself wondering, Why do we wait until it's too late to live fully? Why do we only think about the value of our lives when we are about to leave?

We have the opportunity to change our story. Right here, right now. It's not too late.

Most of us spend our days trying to get popular, be liked by others, or achieve some other insignificant goal.

However, there are questions we need to be asking ourselves before it’s too late.

  • What legacy will you leave behind?
  • In what way did you leave the world better than the way you found it?
  • What were your biggest contributions?
  • Will your absence be noticed?

These are probably the most important questions we should ask ourselves, but we usually don't. Sometimes, it is because they are too hard to answer or too scary to face.

But we must remember that we're not here to waste our precious time on insignificant things. We exist to serve, to contribute, and to make a difference in our own unique ways.

Our true worth does not come from what we get for ourselves, but from what we give to others. We each have unique gifts, and life is about recognizing these gifts and sharing them with the world.

Don't let self-doubt or critical thoughts hold you back. Fill your mind with possibilities, with what you can achieve. Your aim should not be to live the longest, but to live the fullest.

Live your life in such a way that at the end of your journey, you can look back, smile, and say, "I lived a life worth remembering.

đź“™BOOK RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK

Indistactable by Nir Iyal

If you're ready to reclaim your time, boost your productivity, and finally take charge of your life, "Indistractable" is the ultimate guide to leading a more purposeful and engaged existence.

A few months ago, I finished reading the ShortForm guide to the book, and the insights from the book were very practical and unique.

If you’re looking for a sneak peek at the ShortForm guide introduction, here you go:

“Every one of your actions either reflects traction--moving in the direction of what you actually want, helping you accomplish goals-or distraction moving away from what you actually want and your goals.

Today, with technology as an integral part of your world, it's harder than ever to avoid the temptation of distraction. To keep moving in the right direction, you need to become indistractable, able to understand and avoid your distractions, and choose traction.

There are four elements of the indistractablity model:

  • Control your internal triggers.
  • Build your schedule around your values.
  • Reduce external triggers.
  • Create precommitments.

We'll discuss these four elements and then examine different ways you can bring indistractable habits to your workplace, your children, and your relationships.”

This episode was so helpful because it gave us a look into the life of a streamer and the problems that come with being famous online, like being harassed and so on.

I really liked how honest and open he was in this episode, and I learned a few things I could use in my content creation strategies.
