🙀 Struggling with Anxiety? Try the "Let Them" Technique

Hey .

If you ever struggle with anxiety like I sometimes do, you need to try this.

It’s a technique that I learned from Mel Robbins, and it practically cured my anxiety.

This simple yet powerful method is called the “Let Them” theory. Now, let’s talk about how it works.

Whenever you find yourself feeling anxious because of something out of your control, especially if it’s due to someone else's actions, tell yourself, "Let them."

It's a phrase that encourages acceptance and relinquishment of control over things that are beyond your influence.

Here’s how it can apply to various situations:

  • If you have a friend getting married next month and they didn’t invite you, let them.
  • If someone promised to support a programme of yours only to later ghost you, let them.
  • If your friends don’t reach out to you as much as you do, let them.

By doing this, you gradually train your mind to let go of the need for control and instead learn to accept situations and people for what they actually are.

This acceptance isn’t about being passive or indifferent; it’s about understanding that you can't control others' actions or decisions.

When you embrace the "Let Them" mindset, you're giving yourself permission to release the burden of unnecessary stress and anxiety.

This shift in perspective allows you to focus on what you can control: your response and actions.

Practical Steps to Implement the "Let Them" Technique

1. Acknowledge the Anxiety Trigger: When you feel anxious, identify what or who is causing it.

2. Say "Let Them" Aloud or in Your Mind: Remind yourself to let go of the need to control the situation.

3. Reflect on Your Emotions: Understand why the situation is bothering you and address those feelings without trying to change the other person.

4. Focus on Your Next Move: Decide on a constructive response or action that prioritises your peace and progress.

So next time anxiety starts to creep in, remember to "let them" and witness a positive shift in your mental wellbeing.

✍️ A QUOTE TO REFLECT ON:

"The greatest skill one can develop is closing the gap between idea and execution." - Dan Koe.

The ability to transform thoughts into actions is what differentiates dreamers from achievers.

Mastering the art of execution turns possibilities into realities, opening doors to opportunities that once seemed out of reach.

An idea is worth nothing if it isn’t executed.

🤔 A QUESTION WORTH CONSIDERING:

"What idea have I been overthinking or procrastinating that I should act on today?"
