Hey .
I honestly don't think anyone can live a full life without understanding this.
So when a plane is about to take off, a video is played inside the plane, telling you exactly what to do in case of an emergency.
And what the flight attendant always says is this: “In case of an emergency, an oxygen mask will automatically appear in front of you. If you're travelling with a child or anyone who requires assistance, secure your mask first and then assist the other person.”
You know, life is pretty much the same way.
Before you try to help someone else, you have to help yourself first.
If you put other people's needs before your own and try to help them first, you will probably burn out or get so overwhelmed that you won't be able to help anyone, not even yourself.
See, self-care isn't selfish.
If anything, it's even necessary for both your own well-being and your ability to help others.
Just like putting on an oxygen mask first in an aeroplane, taking care of yourself first is a selfless act that helps everyone around you.
📙 BOOK RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK.
I really enjoyed reading "Daring Greatly" by Brené Brown. This book is very powerful because it talks about vulnerability and how important it is to live a full and honest life.
It tells people to get out of their comfort zones, be open, and live their lives with all their hearts. It tells us to accept our flaws and know the strength that comes from letting others truly see us. Here are 4 takeaways from it:
1. Vulnerability as Strength:
Brown disagrees with the idea that being vulnerable means you are weak. Instead, she says it is the foundation of courage and strength. She emphasises that sharing our thoughts and feelings with others lets us connect with them and grow as people.

To have a happy life, you have to be open to being hurt. To do this, you have to be willing to deal with uncertainty, take risks, and let your emotions show. It's a conscious choice to step into the unknown with courage.
3. The Power of Connection:
Being vulnerable helps people connect in a real way. We build meaningful relationships when we let ourselves be seen, flaws and all. Sharing a vulnerability makes connections and understanding stronger between people.
4. Dismantling Shame:
Brown talks about the idea of shame resilience and stresses how important it is to recognise and get over shame. Developing empathy, self-compassion, and a sense of belonging can help you get rid of shame and build a healthy sense of self-worth.
