🎨 LIFE LESSON OF THE DAY

Hey ,

It is interesting how the people we hang out with can largely influence the choices we make. And in this fascinating experiment, you will see exactly how.

In the 1950s, the psychologist Solomon Asch did a study.

In the study, the participants are shown a piece of paper with a line drawn on it, and next to it, three lines numbered one, two, and three.

The goal of the study is for the participant to choose which of the three lines is the same as the original one.

The correct answer was clearly number three.

Now, this is where things get interesting.

If the participant is alone in the room, he gives the right answer right away because the task is very easy.

However, when five other people enter the same room who are all actors but the participant does not know, one after the other, they give the wrong answer, saying that number one is the correct answer.

And when it was time for the participants to choose which line was the same as the original one, almost 75% of them agreed with what the other people had said, even though it was clearly the wrong answer.

That's just crazy.

The lesson here is that just because everyone is doing something doesn't mean it's right. And just because no one is doing it doesn’t make it wrong.

You probably will not be happy or fulfilled if you always do what everyone else does.

What other people are doing should not always be your guide when it comes to making decisions. Instead, your values should be.

Probably the best book ever written on how to be better socially. For someone who I’d say was a 2/10 socially, this book transformed my social life. If you are struggling to make, maintain, or improve your relationship, I’d highly recommend you get this book. Here are 7 takeaways from it:

1. Actively listen. Give other people your full attention when they talk. When you talk to someone, show that you are genuinely interested in what they have to say. People appreciate being heard and understood.

2. Smile. It’s the easiest way to make a great first impression.

3. Show sincere appreciation. Thank and appreciate someone for what they do. Let the people around you know that you appreciate their work and qualities. A sincere compliment can go a long way in building positive relationships.

4. Do not criticise, condemn, or complain. Instead of pointing out flaws, give helpful feedback. Approach situations with a positive attitude, offering solutions rather than dwelling on problems.

5. Remember Names: People love the sound of their own name. Try to remember people's names and use them when you talk to them. It shows that you care about and respect the person.

6. Get other people to talk about themselves. People like to share their thoughts and experiences. By encouraging others to talk about themselves, you create a positive association with your conversations.

7. Admit mistakes and avoid arguments. Be humble and open about your mistakes. Do not argue, and instead of trying to prove a point, try to find a solution. Being honest about when you are wrong builds trust and understanding.

YOUTUBE VIDEO OF THE WEEK

How to make SO much money it makes you sick | Alex Hormozi

In this YouTube video, Alex Hormozi talks about making the big bucks and getting financially successful.

He talks about the importance of setting specific financial goals and making the most of the resources available to us.

The talk dives into the feeling of being overwhelmed when we're unsure about which path to take and how that's a sign of lacking a solid strategy.

The main takeaway is that strategy is about prioritisation.

It's all about choosing the actions that will give you the biggest bang for your buck.

Here are some practical steps we can take:

  • Set clear financial goals. Define our monthly income target and outline a plan to achieve it.

  • Prioritise and strategize: Come up with a clear strategy that focuses on the most high-impact actions.

  • Focus on Our Product or Service: Concentrate on making our offering the best it can be, ensuring it's a top choice for our customers.

  • Address Business Constraints: Identify and tackle the factors that are holding our business back.

  • Incremental Profit Growth: Commit to increasing profits by just 1% every month in order to have a huge impact on your long-term success.

I really think you will find this video helpful.
