Hey .
Have you ever had trouble remembering things, focusing, or thinking clearly, kind of like your brain is tired?
If this sounds like you, it could be because you have brain fog.
Brain fog, also called mental fog, is when you feel mentally tired and unable to focus.
Many people have had this experience at some point in their lives.
The good news is that there are things you can do to help clear the fog and improve your mental clarity.
Let’s look at them:
1. Get enough sleep.
Getting 8-9 hours of restful sleep every night is one of the best ways to fight brain fog.
Sleep is very important for keeping your brain healthy and able to work at its best.
2. Avoid excessive caffeine, especially 10 hours before bed.
Keeping yourself hydrated and avoiding drinking too much caffeine can also help fight mental fatigue.
It’s recommended that men drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 litres) of water a day, and women drink about 11.5 cups (2.7 litres) of water a day.
3. Exercise regularly, but not close to bedtime.
Our bodies are made to move. Not only does being inactive affect your body in the long run, but it also affects your brain.
Adding regular exercise to your schedule can help get more blood to the brain, which can improve brain function.
4. Check your diet.
Your brain and body may not be responding well to the foods you are eating.
Try to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet that is full of nutrients that are good for your brain.
5. Put down the phone
Excessive screen time can be extremely detrimental to our brains.
It leads to too much stimulation and stress.
Every day, take some time to connect with yourself without any screens.
Disclaimer: This is not medical advice, just what worked for me. If the brain fog persists, consider going to see a doctor.
✍️ A QUOTE TO REFLECT ON:
"No one knows what they're doing. not even the ones with degrees, big job titles or the people on your vision board. Everyone is just trying loudly, failing loudly, and trying again. And so should you." - The Good Quote.
In a world where everyone seems to have it all together, it's important to remember that most people are just figuring it out as they go along.
It's easy to look at successful individuals with impressive credentials and think they have all the answers, but the truth is, they are often navigating through uncertainty just like the rest of us.
Embracing the process of trial and error, learning from failures, and having the courage to keep pushing forward are key ingredients to success.
It's okay to not have everything figured out; what truly matters is the willingness to take risks, learn from experiences, and persist in the face of challenges.
So, if you ever find yourself doubting your own path or feeling overwhelmed by the journey ahead, remember that it's all part of the process.
Trust that each step you take, no matter how uncertain, is leading you closer to where you're meant to be.
🤔 A QUESTION WORTH CONSIDERING:
What is a single adjustment I can implement in my surroundings to increase mental peace and reduce stress?
