Have you ever felt lost or unsure of your life's direction? You're not alone; so many people go on with their lives living this way.

It's easy to fall into this pattern, especially when life's responsibilities and routines become overwhelming.

But there's a simple yet profound way to discover your true calling that many people don’t talk about. 

It’s a Japanese concept that has shaped my life, and I believe it can help you too. It’s called ikigai.

Ikigai is a Japanese term that means "reason for being." 

It’s the thing that gets you out of bed in the morning, excited to start the day. 

Imagine a life where you’re driven by passion, skill, purpose, and sustainability. Ikigai consists of four important sections, and in today’s newsletter, we'll explore how you can find your Ikigai.

Section 1: What You Love

First, you start by identifying your passions. Think about the activities that make you lose track of time. What topics or hobbies light you up inside? 

This could be anything from editing videos, coding, helping others, to photography. Grab a pen and paper and list these passions. Reflect on moments when you felt most alive and engaged.

Section 2: What You’re Good At

Next, recognise your skills and strengths. What comes naturally to you? Often, we overlook our talents because they seem easy to us, but these are the very skills that can shape your future. 

Write down the tasks you excel at, whether it’s problem-solving, organising, or creating art.

Section 3: What the World Needs

Now, consider the world's needs. Look around and identify problems that resonate with you. What issues do you feel need solving? 

This could range from improving access to education, creating sustainable living solutions, to enhancing healthcare services. Think about where you can make a meaningful impact. Write these down, too.

Section 4: What You Can Be Paid For

Finally, explore ways to monetize your passions and skills. This could be through starting a business, offering freelance services, or finding a job that aligns with your interests. 

Think creatively about how you can turn your talents into a sustainable income. This step is crucial to ensuring that your Ikigai supports you financially.

By combining these four elements—what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for—you can uncover your Ikigai. 

This process might take time and introspection, but the result is a life that feels purposeful and fulfilling. 

Remember, your Ikigai is not just about finding a job; it’s about creating a life that aligns with your deepest values and passions. 

Start this journey today and embrace the joy of living a life driven by your unique purpose.
