Good afternoon ,
No Typewriters / No Talking is pleased to invite you to our inaugural meeting hosted in conjunction with our dear friends Tempo Rubato.
When: 7:30pm – 8:30pm Wednesday 15 March
Where: Tempo Rubato, 34 Breese St, Brunswick, 3056
What to bring
- Something to write with/on. It could be a biro on notepad, fingers on laptop, quill on vellum — anything you want, just not a gosh darn typewriter
- A mask — while not mandatory, we're creating an inclusive space. Wearing a mask will help ensure immunocompromised people, or people who live with or care for others, will feel more welcome. And, look, you're not going to be talking anyway.
- Koha/a small donation to help cover the cost of venue hire etc etc
What not to bring
- Your typewriter
- Talking points, conversation topics, and/or a loquacious attitude
What will be provided
- A table to rest your writing implements on
- A chair to rest yourself on
- Water and various receptacles to hold said water
- A prompt for you to write about (if you don't have anything you are currently working on)
- A limited edition one of a kind typewritten membership card to commemorate your attendance at the first ever No Typewriters / No Talking
Once the hour of writing is over, we may move on to another venue to, you know, chat.
What is Tempo Rubato?
Tempo Rubato is an amazing live classical music venue in Brunswick. When they're not hosting fantastic performances they're also small/eclectic collections of publications for sale (on point!) and pre-loved sheet music! Even if you don't come to No Typewriters / No Talking, you should totally go a concert there. They are awesome.

- Mercilessly bullying any friends who say they wished they wrote more into signing up, and
- following us on Instagram and re-sharing our posts.
Can't make it?
That's okay. We'll be running these regularly and sending out emails so you have plenty of warning and can completely alter your life plans to fit around us.
