Thank you again for coming to the first ever No Typewriters / No Talking session way back in March. Honestly. Two months later and we're still blown away people actually showed up (and then showed up a second time) and wrote for an hour in silence (and exerted enough self control to not bring a typewriter).

They say third time is a charm, so we are running another session and RSVPs are open now for the OG Green Card Crew. You have 24 hours to snaffle a spot before we go out to the rest of the mailing list.

No Typewriters / No Talking is taking a big step: we’re going to start charging for tickets.

Over the past two sessions, we’ve shown providing a physical space creates mental space for you to do thing you want to do (but find many reasons not to), write.

Writers have written an average of slightly more than 1000 words each session. That’s across a range of styles — from screenplays to lyrics, erotica to journaling. 

Charging means we can contribute back to Tempo Rubato — the beautiful space we call home.

The piece of feedback the No Typewriters / No Talking Team has heard the most is you would like to stay at Tempo for a drink. Charging for tickets allows that to happen. We’ll be able to open the bar a bit earlier and then you can stick around after (if you want to, no pressure).

For the first two sessions we asked for Koha/contributions to help cover costs, and you absolutely lovely humans gave us an average of $9 each. So tickets will cost $9 (plus Eventbrite fees), which we think is very reasonable*.
