Just Quitting the Internet Is Not the Solution

Howdy,
By the time you read this, I will be a few days from my return to normal life in Texas.
For the past 2 weeks I have had my phone turned off and been away on vacation in Cancun, Mexico, where my father lives.
When I decided to unplug, it wasn't because I saw social media as the evil thing I needed to get rid of. Social media simply showed me parts of myself that still need work.
My intention was always to go back and use it again.
But what will change? How will I change my relationship with social media? Is taking time off going to fix me?
I view this detox the same way I view a plant medicine ceremony. Just taking medicine and having an intense experience is not how you create change.
The most important part is how you integrate what you experienced to your daily life.
How do I integrate with any healing experience?
I write about it, I meditate on it, I see a therapist to talk about it with, and wherever possible, I create new systems to help me regulate my past behavior.
But don't take my word for it. Watch this 3 minute video to learn more about integration.
More on this when I return.
Regards,
Nick
