Merry Happy Reflection Time 🤔🎄📝

Morning ,
There's always an audio version of these emails and this one you can find here in google drive 🎧.
It's a little while since I've published a book (actually it's coming up for 10 years). Crikey!
This week I felt compelled to write again, this time not a book. This week I developed a reflection guide for leaders arriving at the end of 2024.
I think you'd probably guess I love a little bit of reflection, being the thinker that I am. I'm sure you'd understand that given that I'll often be asking you reflection questions.
Reflection is where some of our best learning occurs. It's where we get to take the time to untangle our experiences, to reassemble them into meaningful chunks. When we take notes of our reflections it's far easier to identify patterns and to then convert those into an understanding of actions we can take. Perhaps also some new habits to establish.
So this week I prepared a structure reflection guide.
It's two fold on the reflection front. It'll help you reflect on where you've used your strengths this year. Not only recently but I have a recommendation on an approach to take you back to the start of 2024 also.
It will also help you to identify opportunities via a self assessment around some specific leadership competencies. There's a scorecard type activity that will help you identify where you'd like to point yourself next year in terms of how you lead.
Remember. Leaders are everywhere.
As I conducted this reflection activity on myself and my 2024, I identified a couple of intentional activities I will undertake more often. I'm the kind of leader who loves to bring their strategic thinking strengths to their work. In particular in 2025 I'm going to bring that to the drive/energy competency so that what I'm doing is targeting the most impactful use of my energy. It's a practice that I will be more mindful of as we head into the new year.
In the paragraph above I've used the structure of the reflection activity to arrive at my actions to take. I've also used the "I'm the kind of leader...." statement that the reflection guide encourages you to use.
Why? It helps to affirm the identity we want as a leader. It helps to clarify it in our mind and builds belief.
I have published the guide (so far) on Gumroad and on Etsy. In the process I've learned a few things about how simple it is to get your content up and distributed.
I've also just submitted it to Amazon Kindle. That's where I published my first book.
Reflection gives us the opportunity to learn from our experiences. This structured reflection activity will help you untangle the year and also help you find all of the positives, the wins, the stuff that just blew past but that saw you using your strengths to their fullest.
It's priced at $27.00 and of course if you enter the discount code grouse on Gumroad it'll take that price down a little.
I'd love to help you sharpen your leadership practice and use of your strengths in 2025. The guide will get you started on where you might want to point them.

I'll drop you a line when it's available on Kindle.
I hope you have a ripper Christmas and New Year.
Thanks for reading and thank you for being a part of my 2024.
