Information, Knowledge, Wisdom

Good morning ,

I'd like to add more than just inbound information to your inbox.

Cos maybe this morning you've already checked Insta, LinkedIn, texts, whatsapp and a handful of other media sources. And they've taken you and your attention wherever they wanted to.

And now you've landed here.

In your inbox (whether work or personal) and you're reading this.

Today I'd like to help you add more wisdom to your life. Wisdom that is in your brain, wisdom that is in your body.

So I'd like to ask just two questions to help you gather and use the wisdom you're accumulating, but you're being distracted from metabolising sharing.

I believe wiser people (and read that as wiser leaders) can deliver better outcomes. Wisdom doesn't always require an older head, but it does demand more of us seeking some insights from a handful of google searches, youtube tutorials and a couple of reels via insta to work out what's next.

I feel it requires great questions to learn from our lessons and then another essential ingredient, which is the sharing of those lessons with others. This way we really process it and others get to benefit.

So I'd love to kickstart a bit of reflection for you this week with two questions:

  1. What's a lesson you feel you've learned this month?
  2. In processing that lesson, who would benefit from you sharing it with them?

Now, if you're scanning around for someone to share it with, you can always share it back with me. You might also choose to store it up a little, maybe build a spreadsheet to track the lessons, the accumulated wisdom (I keep a Story Bank in the same way).

A lesson I've been reminded of in the last ten days is the importance of "knowing thyself". One of my favourite maxims from the Temple of Apollo in Delphi (of course, I've yet to get there, but I've read about it since my teens).

I know how I behave and learn under certain circumstances, there's wisdom in simply appreciating that, preparing in alignment with that wisdom and executing accordingly. I know this.

When you know that you work with "think-act-think" as part of your process (there's that strategic thinking and intellection at work again 💪) it's a reminder that for me this is a strong place to start.

So what's a lesson you've learned this month?

Care to share?

In strength 💪
