Howdy pard,

Come take a seat in the shade and get out of the heat. You’ve travelled a long way. Here’s a shot of ol’ redeye to wash the dust from your craw.

Never mind the heat – I’ve got somethin’ for you. I’ve found a pile of free (or cheap) books just waitin’ to be read – help yourself to as many as you’d like. I’ve got accounts of the trials and tribulations the average Old West settler suffered at the hands of the local doctor, or 'sawbones’, as they called them.

I’ve got news of the decimation of the great buffalo herds out west, as well as the many Indian scouts being hired by the army to combat hostile native American tribes. I’ve got a documentary about the Pleasant Valley War, as well as a recipe for strawberry ice cream that was served at President James Madison's inaugural ball in 1813.

Quick, have another drink – there’s a lot to discuss. As my ol’ grandpa used to say, ‘When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty’.
