Did you know...

Welcome to our new home, Weirdos!

I'm really enjoying SendFox so far, and the more I learn, the better it will be for everyone. Like I said, it's definitely not as fancy (yet), but we'll see what happens as we go.

A quick order of business, and then onto the fun!

Weird Fact Of The Week: Did you know that without saliva, we couldn't taste food?

I did not know this, but I think it makes sense, considering when I was eighteen I had half my left salivary gland removed. I had this giant lump on my jaw, and it was there for years. When I say years, from the age of twelve, I noticed it. It moved under the skin. I would play with it when I was bored in class. Gross, I know.

Anyway, at eighteen, I needed my tonsils removed, and the doctor did an MRI. He already knew it was not a cyst, as I had been told repeatedly, but a tumor. Benign, thankfully.

Y'all, on the way back from this MRI, can I tell you I got t-boned my someone running a stop sign? Seriously. It was an event.

Anyway, tonsils and tumor removed all in one go, and while I salivate pretty okay, I always thought stuff tasted a little different after that. In the sense of maybe not as potent? Doc said if the half left behind opted to stop working, I'd just have to carry water around to wet my whistle. Do you think that would work in place of saliva? Thankfully, I haven't had to find out.

And yes, the weird fact of the week is new and will continue to be a thing. Though maybe not with a long-winded story attached each week.

Next Week: I'm going to have an announcement for y'all, so make sure to tune in!
