Al Michaels famously shouted "Do you believe in miracles?" when the amateur US hockey team beat the USSR pro hockey team in a semi-final round of the 1980 Winter Olympics.

Its origin in policy circles dates to William McChesney Martin, the longest-serving Fed chairman who held the position from 1951-70.
