President Biden's first infrastructure bill is about to pass the Senate (fingers crossed). It's a $1.2 Trillion package that is sorely needed.

And it sets the table for Congress to pass a second infrastructure bill that's 3 1/2 times the size of the first one.

Crazy. I have no idea how they'll pay for all this stuff, but I don't really care. Put it on the damned national credit card.

Our infrastructure is crumbling all around us (in some cases quite literally). Bridges, damns, the power grid. All that stuff exists and needs critical repairs.

Add in all the stuff we need to build (like nationwide 5G and fiber), EV charging stations, renewable power generation, 21st century education at all levels... it's a BIG BILL and it will cost TONS of money.

I'd suggest these two bills are simply the first two installment payments of a really bigass long-term program.

That is, if Congress has the stomach for it. The American people need deserve it.

In other news, FLORIDUH Governor and Future Assistant Dog Catcher of Dade County Ron DeSATAN is doubling down on being the biggest dick governor in history. He's threatening school board members and superintendents with withholding their pay if they mandate mask wearing in their classrooms.

As students in many Florida counties headed back to school Monday, RepublicanGov. Ron DeSantis threatened to stop paying superintendents and school board members who defy his executive order banning classroom mask mandates.

In a statement Monday, DeSantis said district-level officials who implement covid-19 policies requiring masks for students could be subject to “financial consequences.”

“For example, the State Board of Education could move to withhold the salary of the district superintendent or school board members, as a narrowly tailored means to address the decision-makers who led to the violation of law,” said the statement from DeSantis’s office to CBS Miami and other news outlets.

That guy is a real piece of work. FLORIDUH - reclaim your self worth and fire that assclown.
