Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of the worst attack our democracy has ever experienced.

Oh, you could say the Civil War was 10x or 100x or 1000x worse.

YOU could say that. But you'd be wrong.

THAT wasn't a direct attack on democracy. It was a bunch of redneck states who liked owning people and didn't want the federal government telling them what they could and couldn't do (much like MAGAts today).

But last January 6 was an attack on a fundamental component of our democracy. You could say it cut deeper than just an affront to the US Constitution.

Never before had the peaceful transfer of power been challenged. And in such shitty ways.

If they didn't get their way in the courts, they just went to the secretary of state in the states they wanted to steal and leaned on 'em. They also ran a bunch of disinfo -- er, misinfo campaigns.

And it still goes on to this day.
