RIP Walter Mondale

Hi!
Leading the news today is the death of former VP Walter Mondale. He ran for POTUS in 1984 and lost in a giant landslide.
I remember it.
What I don't remember was how graciously he took the loss and how influential he was in Democratic politics.
Word is that he redefined the vice presidency, giving it power it hadn't had before and that power remains to this day.
He left a legacy. Mondale was 93.
In other news, two leaders of the Proud Boys have been jailed because the judge in their case determined they were a threat to society. In short, they would be able to coordinate future attacks on the US government unless they were behind bars.
Go figure.
Finally, the following is a story that really chaps my ass:
Officer Brian Sicknick, a Capitol police officer who died a day after the January 6 Capitol insurrection, died of “natural causes,” according to the Washington DC medical examiner.
What kind of bullshit is this? The man was pepper-sprayed and beaten and died after having a series of mini-strokes. You really think NONE of that had anything to do with his death?
That ME is no Quincy.
