I didn't publish my daily email yesterday. Nearly nobody noticed. Bummer.

March 9, 2022 The Morning Sixpack

Congress is getting in on the Russian sanctions action, vowing to ban Russian energy imports, while US says Poland offer to give US their old fighter jets and then hand them to Ukraine is a bad idea. No shit.

Of course, Russia is still slow-rolling into Kyiv. Seems they're running out of gas (aren't we all?), they're riding on crappy Chinese tires, and their troops, who didn't know they were going to war, are quitting in droves.

Oh, and some of them are DYING. In fact, LOTS of Russian soldiers are dying. The Ukrainians have everything to lose and when that happens, kids and grandparents take up arms.

Russia didn't get the memo from their war in Afghanistan, I guess. Putin isn't so smart.

But there's no doubt Russia will "win." But then what? Will the world just watch as a crazy-uncle madman authoritarian dictator just imposes his will--and his will alone--on the rest of Europe?

I suspect so. These sanctions are great...but they're clearly hurting everybody, not just Russia and certainly not just Putin. In fact, besides embarrassment, I bet he's not affected much...yet.

I'd love to hear YOUR thoughts on this.
