As we work towards reaching our highest potential, the journey is not without potholes.
This means we need to cultivate ways which will always come in handy when we are in situations that threaten our mental and emotional well being.
The following are ways you can improve your mental health
Value yourself ; you are the most important person in your life.
By this I mean that you treat yourself with kindness, forgive yourself when you make the day to day mistakes.
Avoid comparing yourself with others and do the things you like doing often so you are happier more times.
Surround yourself with positivity. Surround yourself with people who supports you and who want to see you win. People who push you forward.
Negative people on the other hand with drain your energy and it will not do any good to your mental health
Value social interactions, positive conversations can be so therapeutic.
Help someone in need; when you help people, it gives you meaning, it makes you feel good.
This doesn't necessarily mean monetary support, you can join others to do some work in a children's home, you can talk to someone, smile at someone.
Genuinely care about other people and share your advice when requested, that can improve your own esteem and general wellness
Set realistic goals
Sometimes you may set unrealistic expectations and this stresses you up when you don't meet them.
And if you do actually meet them, you are totally unhappy through out the process.
Don't put an expectation on yourself to be married in the next one year and you haven't even started dating. If it does happen great, but take one step at a time.
Get help
There are people who are trained to help. Talk to someone, it's okay to go through human experiences and talking it through will lessen the burden. Don't keep stress to yourself.
