HOLDING YOURSELF ACCOUNTABLE

Hi ,

What do you want out of your life?

This is a question you need to ask yourself. Is it happiness? Is it freedom? Is it fulfilment?

As a mindset coach this is a question that i ask to almost all my clients.

If you want to live a purposeful life you have to be accountable for your actions and how your life is turning out. It’s easy to blame how our lives turn out on our employers, partners and parents. It is only when you start taking responsibility and knowing no one can make your life miserable without your permission that you will step up.

Having to take sole responsibility for your life can be scary but it’s also very liberating to know that you have everything it takes to create a beautiful life for yourself.

When you give your power away to other people and when you think you are helpless or you have no control over how things turn out, is when you start sabotaging the good in your life.

It’s easy for us to forget that we are accountable to ourselves so we focus more on competing with others and pleasing other people. But the first job you have is to yourself. You are responsible for your own life and to accomplish your goals in life.

Outside what everyone is doing with their lives, what do you want out of life?

When you know your goals, you know how to behave and what character will get you to your goals.

Ask yourself these 2 questions:

  1. What is the one thing you are doing that’s pulling you back?
  2. what is that thing that you need to keep doing to get you to your goals?

The answers to these 2 questions will not only guide you but they will keep you on track.

On your journey to accomplishing your goals, try not to let yourself down by neglecting your needs and abandoning yourself for others.

Sometimes we focus so much on making other people happy at our own expense then we are left feeling resentful towards ourselves, a feeling that makes us feel like failures.

We cannot ignore the fact that we have responsibilities to other people in our lives i.e. our children, parent, employers etc. At the same time let’s not forget the first responsibility you have is to yourself. As you move through life chose to do things that are leading you closer to your goals as well as dropping habits that are harming your wellbeing more than helping.

Always remember to hold yourself accountable.
