Do you know Prof. Salisu Sheu?

Well, he recently delivered a lecture on the subject of LGBTQ+. And it was a great one. I was privileged to get his presentation slides.

Now, I already know about the challenges of this weird way of life. But what caught my attention most as I was going through the slides was something that is already happening, and Muslims are rapidly falling for it. What Huntington explained in his 'Clash of Civilizations' as the new source of conflict in the post-Cold War era would be culture. 

Obviously, the West has already won the battle of ideologies and the economy. To fully control the world, it needs complete control over culture. It can do that because it has done it before - to Africa, Asia, Red Indians, and the Aborigines in Australia. The major obstacle on its path though is Islam and Muslims.

Now the thing is that the Muslim approach to this challenge is defensive. There is a limit to how long you can keep defending when you are constantly bombarded by the glitters of the culture you are defending against. 

Muslim children today are more drawn to Western cultures than Islamic identity. And it will keep getting worse in the years to come unless you and I do what we have to do. If we do nothing until this whole generation becomes parents, you can be sure of what Islam and Muslims will look like in the future. And we'll have nobody to blame other than you and me.

What must you do?

Of course Dawah!

But in a new way. Not as business as usual. And that kind of dawah requires a new vanguard. A vanguard that stands on the shoulders of elders, yet operates in the space of modernity without confusion about their identity.
