Why Your Dua Isn't Working

You'll often hear is this:

"There's nothing we can do about the Ummah's suffering—just keep praying and leave it to Allah."

I get it, you've probably heard this too many times before.

With the recent atrocities in Gaza, some Muslims argued that boycotting companies supporting Israel was pointless.

They claimed that all we could do was make dua and hope for divine intervention.

But here's the truth: this mindset is not just unhelpful. It's dangerous.

Some Muslims realised where the power of the enemies come from.

They tried to mobilise the strength of the Ummah - unity, to weaken the enemy so as to crush their oppressions once and for all.

But it was Muslims who started weakening the resolves of their fellow Muslims at a time when nothing other than unity was what we needed to derail the enemy and their tools of oppression.

Despite seeing to a certain degree the impact of our strength, some Muslims still believe we are weak.

Think about it—how can we establish Allah’s order on Earth if we believe we’re too weak to take action?

This false belief paralyzes us, making us passive in the face of oppression.

It convinces us that we’re helpless, and worse, it gives our enemies more power by ensuring that we do nothing.

Instead, we need to recognize our own agency.

Yes, dua is powerful, but Allah has also given us the means to act. We are the Ummah of action, not of excuses.

Boycotts, advocacy, raising awareness, creating our own companies to employ our own people—these are all tools at our disposal.

When used collectively, they can make a significant impact.

We don't need external support for boycott, advocacy or even starting our own companies.

When members of a civilisation rely too much over the products of another civilisation, they are treading the path of their own civilisational oblivion.

So, what can you do today?

Start small. Educate yourself about the companies you support. Use your voice on social media to spread the truth.

Every effort, no matter how small, counts when we act together.

And most importantly, don’t let the belief that you’re powerless hold you back.

You are far more capable than you think.

That's why every Muslim who cares about the future of the Ummah needs to become a creator—not just a content creator, but also a business creator, wealth creator, and lifestyle creator.

You need to change from a mindless consumer of other people's content, products, lifestyle, and theories to creating various components of change that help solidify the foundations and continuous growth of the Muslim Ummah both spiritually and materially.

This mindset shift is exactly what led me to create The AI-Empowered Muslim Mini Course.

Whatever you create for the sake of Allah, you need to design a distribution system that will help you consistently spread its values without burning out.

Because the truth is, when we combine prayer with purposeful action, the possibilities are endless.

So, stop making the mistake of thinking the Ummah is weak.

We are only weak because we are not taking the actions we need to take.

And that can change if you start playing your role right away.

May Allah grant us all the courage to carry out our responsibilities towards Him.
