I Found Blue Tape in the Dryer Again

What's Good MuseumTrade Peeps?!,

I hope the not-so-new year has been productive. I've been busy with new vendors for a collection center, managing regular exhibitions, and helping colleagues with their podcasts. It's been really fun (and full) lately.

Big CONGRATS to Tim and Bret for winning the Tools of the Trade Giveaway. I have more planned for this year so stay tuned and check the site for more info.

What I'm testing:

How do you hang your labels? For our permanent galleries (not temp shows) we mount the printed substrate to 4-ply matboard. Then that matboard is applied to the wall. We use double stick tape, with blue tape on the wall first so it doesn't peel the paint. BUT sometimes it does pull the paint though. So we're trying command strips, both the Velcro and flatter version. In 6-9 months we'll peel it off to see how it works. We'll also see if it leaves any residue, the blue tape definitely will.

How about you, what's cookin? Truly, hit me back, I want to know. Can I help in any way? Or simply reply to this email and say "Hi", it's nice to know you're out there.
