New interns, an MVP, and an important prayer request.

Dear praying friends,

On Monday and Tuesday, we had two new interns arrive! We are super excited to welcome a 54-year-old "Give Back" intern from California, a wonderful, energetic semi-retired lady who wanted to give 5 weeks to serve! We also welcomed a 25-year-old creative man who loves theater and poetry and has been looking for ways to combine his love for the arts with ministry. The rest of the week will involve a full onboarding schedule and exploring Berlin for them! Please pray as they acclimate to a new city and ministry opportunities.

I grew up loving sports - so the idea of an MVP always meant "Most Valuable Player" to me. Over the last several years, MVP has shifted meaning to "Minimal Viable Product," which initially sounded incredibly underwhelming to me. Why would I minimally start something? Meanwhile, I have fallen in love with the concept of starting with an MVP. Tonight is another MVP rollout. We are launching a "Salon" evening - in the classic European meaning of the word (no hair-styling will be taking place!). We will be gathering people together to discuss a current theme with all sorts of jumping off places for artists, philosophers, etc. to chime in. Why an MVP? Because I have an informed hypotheses that this solution meets the need. Before investing too much money, time, and other resources - I want to test my hypothesis and make minor adjustments until I offer a solution that meets the need. (What do you think the need is that we are trying to reach? Any guesses?) I have invited 20 people to test this new concept, with the anticipation that we will be 10-15 people.

And the other big prayer request? One of our Residents is struggling to find a visa appointment. We have 4 people searching every morning for a visa appointment, with no luck. Can you pray that we find one for him?

Other requests:

  1. Caleb is back from his trip with his band and they have a performance on Thursday.
  2. Josh is up North studying for a month.
  3. Johannah is looking for a new apartment.
  4. Our teams are basically full for 2024, and we are taking dates for 2025 already. It's exciting, but also crazy! Pray for wisdom as we fill our calendars.

Blessings,

mike
