So glad my fever broke - and other news from the road.

Dear praying friends,

THANK YOU all so much for your prayers. We had a great week in Detroit Lakes (by the way - welcome to the new people from DL on this list!). After spending a wonderful week there connecting with people, Elissa and I both came back with separate colds. Elissa picked up a stomach bug and I have had head cold and fever. My fever broke today - praise God. For the curious, no - a runny nose and a handlebar mustache are NOT a good combination.

As we have been recovering, we have also been finishing our messages for Crown. We are almost done, and are excited to share at the end of the month.

Thanks for praying for my sleep test as well. The results show that I do have mild obstructive sleep apnea. The next step will be working with my doctor to address the next steps.

Our new intern, Elise, landed safely in Berlin today! Please pray for her as she adjusts to a lot of "news" in the coming months.

Some other exciting news - one of our residents started a new ministry called "Drawing and Coffee." Several weeks ago, more than 20 people came to enjoy spending time together! This event feeds very naturally into our "Art-O-Clock" event, and last Wednesday 9 people (2 new people) came to that event to share their art and hear about other people's work. Many of the guests went out to eat together afterwards. Please keep praying for these relationships! People who come to these events are not coming just for the art. They are saying things like, "I am coming every time we have the event because it is so warm and welcoming" and "There is nothing like this event - it is a special time." Please pray for both our guests and our hosts - that those hosting the events can shine the love of Jesus, and that our guests will come to know Jesus!

This Sunday we will be in Battle Lake - come see us if you are in the area!

Other prayer requests:

  1. Please pray that I can finish shaking this cold.
  2. Pray for our team in Berlin! Pray for people to feel welcomed by the hospitality shown, and for our team to have good opportunities to talk about Jesus.
  3. Pray for safe winter travel.

Thanks for praying!

Mike
