Back to LIFE…

Hi praying friends!
Elissa and I are sitting in the MSP airport waiting for our flight to Indianapolis, which departs at 9:00 AM. Today we start helping with set-up for the Missions Experience at LIFE, an opportunity for thousands of teenagers at the conference to hear about what God is doing around the world and be challenged with hearing how they can enter into God‘s plan - by going or sending. There will also be a Prayer Experience and a Justice Experience. Elissa and I will spend time this week at the end of the Missions Experience, talking with students and adults to hear how they are processing the experience and what God might be doing in their lives.
Would you please pray for the conference? And pray for us? A week of conversations with people promises to be exhausting for us, especially as we continue to work hard to create space for people in those conversations and extend hospitality to them in that way.
And then - our speaking and conference tour will be finished! We will start packing and sorting again as we get ready for returning to Berlin (and take some vacation to get our family together!)
Can you pray for a couple of things that feel pressing?
- We still have not received notice that our Visa in Germany has been canceled, in spite of us asking for that to happen. We know we gave them the notice they require for leaving the country, but receiving confirmation would make it nice, and also perhaps make it possible for us to apply for a Visa from here, which we have not been able to do because our previous Visa was still active!
- We are searching for housing for our new teammates, Joel and Kate Damon, who will be joining us in September. You have heard me say it before, the housing market is tough in Berlin! Please pray that we find the perfect place for them.
- Our team in Berlin has had a lot of comings and goings in the last couple of weeks. Please pray for them as they host a short term team and say good-bye to another intern.
Thanks for your prayers! I asked you to pray for this team coming, and yesterday we had a situation where the housing we had rented for the team had a horrible ant infestation. As our team in Berlin cared for the visiting team, I was able to work with the host and Air BnB to cancel the booking and find new housing for the team - and in some incredible way, everything worked smoothly and in a couple of hours we had the team booked in new housing. Amazing!
Please keep praying!
Blessings,
mike
