Hi praying friends!

When you are part of an organization with the vision to discover and develop the next generation of missional leaders through short-term experiences, summers take on a different feel.

The coming weeks and months will be filled with welcoming visiting teams for 10 day trips. We have a team arriving on May 24, another on June 15, a third on July 2, and our last trip of the summer on August 1).

We also welcome new interns and residents, with an intern arriving May 17, a resident arriving May 21, another intern on May 30, and our final summer intern coming on June 1.

We are pretty excited about these opportunities to invest in people. Can you pray for us as people begin to arrive, as we onboard/orient them to our work and the culture, and as we work with teams to connect them to ministries and the culture of Berlin?

Please also pray for our house church and our ministry in our local community. Over the past couple of weeks I am beginning to feel that Berlin is finally really emerging from some of the impacts of the Covid pandemic. I missed most of last summer in Berlin because I was on home assignment, so missed some of the gradual reemerging before fall and winter hit. It is noticeable as community programs swing back into action, people emerge from their apartments, and the city rumbles back to life that people are looking to connect!

Last night I was at our a membership meeting of the local community organization that runs the gardening initiative that Elissa and I have been a part of. It was fascinating to see so many people gathered who have different focus teams that lead different community focused events for our part of Berlin.

Pray for Elissa and I as we engage in our community - this Saturday is another gardening initiative!

Here are some other requests:

1. Pray for the upcoming re-launch of my podcast. We will be splitting what has become a very diverse podcast into a couple of more focused podcasts, but there is quite a bit of work required. Pray as we work through that.
2. Pray for our team as we get ready to welcome interns.
3. Pray for our kids - both Johannah and Caleb are considering changing their apartment situations. Pray for wisdom and for good apartment solutions.
