What do you miss the most when you go overseas?

Dear praying friends,

12 days from today we will be boarding the plane to return to Berlin. In July, it was 13 years since the first time we got on the plane to start our ministry there.

Almost everywhere we go, whether it is in the US or Germany, we are bound to get the question, "What do you miss most?" In this life that God has called us to, the answer has become the same no matter where we are - We miss people. When we are in Germany, we are away from our daughter and our family who lives in the US. When we are in the US, we are away from our sons who live in Berlin. And - of course, we are away from friends no matter where we are!

So - with 12 days to go, we find ourselves often feeling a little frozen. We have plans to see people, but know that there are good-byes connected to these meetings, which makes them both necessary and hard. And we have packing to do. Please pray for us as we try to keep moving through all of the necessary steps!

Are you on Substack? The Alliance recently interviewed us for an article on their Substack. Check it out here. Give it a like, share it with friends, and leave a comment! In the past, articles like this have helped people discover our ministry - so feel free to pass it on, as well!

Here are some ways you can pray for us in the next week:

  1. We have some goodbyes in front of us this week - with both family and friends. Please pray for these sweet times of gathering and the difficulty of saying goodbye.
  2. Pray for us as we pack and store things again!
  3. Pray for our team in Berlin as they finish serving a short-term-team and also have an intern leaving after being on site for 11 months! Transitions are hard!
  4. Pray for us to get approval on our building plans soon from our landlord! We know that the process takes a long time in Germany, but I submitted the plans 9 days ago, and have not heard back yet. We need approval before we can get bids (and start raising funds!)

Thanks for your prayers!

Mike
