Counseling Compact Survey Results and Q & A

Dear MMHCA Members and All Michigan Counselors,

On January 30, 2025, we distributed both a video and a written report outlining the current status of the Counseling Compact to all licensed Michigan Counselors. Following that, we invited all licensed Michigan Counselors to submit their questions and feedback. This email is sent to you to share the survey results, questions and answers in a timely fashion. Our goal is to ensure all stakeholders are well-informed as Michigan considers its role in the Counseling Compact.

Understanding the Counseling Compact and its impact on our profession and the broader behavioral health landscape is crucial to protecting our profession’s integrity and ensuring high-quality care for clients. The Counseling Compact, if pursued, will be a major legislative undertaking that will require a great deal of work on the part of many people.

Your continued engagement in this discussion is crucial and welcome as we work together to understand and respond to these potential changes in our profession.
