Election News and May 2025 Reminders  

Dear MMHCA Members:

There are many important things happening in May for MMHCA members!

Election News

We are very excited about our slate of 12 candidates for the upcoming election of Board members. You'll learn more about our 12 candidates over the next few weeks. We're proud to say it's a strong team that deeply cares about advancing our profession in Michigan and uplifting LPCs. Ballots will be emailed to you on May 22, 2025 and voting will be open until June 5, 2025. Only current members are eligible to vote in the election. If someone wants to join to vote, they must join by May 21, 2025.

May Reminders

1. Peer Consultation Group

Our monthly Peer Consultation Group for all members is led by our Treasurer, Krystin Sankey, and available as a free benefit to MMHCA members. This group meets the second Tuesday of each month and will meet this week on Tuesday, May13th, 12-12:45pm.

2. Supervisor Consultation Group

Our monthly Consultation Group for Counseling Supervisors meets regularly the third Thursday of the month and meets next on May 15th, 12-12:45pm. This group is available as a free benefit only for MMHCA Supervisor and Counselor Educator members and is led by Dr. Larry Pfaff.

Those planning to attend must register for the session in advance and must be a Supervisor Member. To register for the Supervisor Consultation Group click here.

3. Member Q & A and Networking

Please join our regular monthly networking event where you can also ask questions of and interact with Board members on Wednesday, May 21st, 8:00pm - 9:00pm - the day before ballots are emailed to you! This group is led by our Board members.

4. Board Election

You were all sent the election announcement from the Court Special Master on May 7. On May 9 James Blundo sent an email to counselors claiming the announcement from the Court was not true. As you know from receiving the follow up on May 9 from the Special Master, Mr. Blundo was wrong. The election will take place as announced by the courts with ballots being sent out to current members on May 22 and voting open until June 5. We would be honored to have your vote, and promise to continue growing the organization into one we all are proud of and one that significantly benefits members and LPCs.
