I'm based in Ontario and won't be able to make it to Alberta for the event but I've attended a few of their conferences over the years (with our kids as babies of course!) and had the opportunity to design and host a Parentpreneur Lounge for them at their 2022 event in Ottawa.

FYI: This isn't an ad, I'm not being paid by Startup Canada or sponsored to promote, simply spreading the parent-friendly professional development goodness across Canada and beyond! 🇨🇦✨️

I'm hoping we can continue to build upon the presence of parents who are showing up in business spaces to invest in themselves, connect with others and stay up to date on the business, technology and economic changes in 2025.

Watch this quick 20-second YouTube Short of what it's been like bringing my kids to the Startup Canada conferences. ⬇️

And lovely feedback and an invitation to all parents from Startup Canada's CEO, Kayla Isabelle ⬇️ Image text reads: "A reminder to all parents: you and your baby/little one/aspiring young entrepreneur are ALWAYS welcome to a Startup Canada event. Every. single. one.

A huge shoutout to Amy Lynch for always championing mixing babies with business, and advocating for inclusive spaces where we can balance it all (or attempt to)! Grateful to have your leadership and support in my own working mom journey!"

🌏 Supporting You In Parenthood x Work x Impact

I've designed a special offering for parents worldwide in 2025 – think of it as your monthly cuppa and chat with a fellow parent and social impact leader, navigating the future of work alongside three kids.

Tune into a private podcast, resources and rituals based on my nine years as a parent (and accidental-turned-intentional activist):

  • living, parenting and creating from a place of learning more about (and trusting) my intuition;
  • curated practices to support you with the embodiment and energetics of advocacy, visibility, innovation and changemaking; and
  • opportunities to connect with other parents like you, living it in real time.

Whether you're...

...building a business

...leading a team

...working on contract

...upskilling between feeds

...volunteering with a board

...creating something from nothing

...restricted by school and nap hours

This is for parents like you. Episodes and resources drop on the 25th of each month, upcoming quarterly events take place in May, August and November, and the community container is open throughout 2025.

Spend time with the ones you love, while investing in yourself.

📣🎙 Everyday Activism To Keep You Going

Micro learning opportunities for parents, live streamed from inside my carpark studio between school drop offs / pick ups / appointments / activities / the stuff of life!

So far I've covered:

  • getting comfortable with pitching and presenting
  • practical ways to focus your messaging
  • creative approaches to speaking
  • the importance of visibility and branding
  • doing public and government relations
  • tracking your accomplishments and celebrating
  • interesting audience Qs over the years
  • how I've answered tactfully and in the moment
  • activism and social impact stories woven throughout

Watch back the previous video trainings via:

YouTube // LinkedIn // IG @mixingbabiesandbusiness // FB Page

Next week: I’ll livestream about patterns I've noticed with speaking and how to predict if you'll get more audience Qs

Q for you: Anything you'd like to learn about/ask?

🗳 A Note About Democracy

All three of our kids have been to the municipal, provincial and federal polls — one even made it to the Brexit polls — when they were in utero and earthside.

The volunteers at the booths always love to meet the next generation.

🗓 Mark your diaries

🚼 Bring your kids

🗳 Vote like their future depends on it

I get it, you may not be:

...sleeping through the night

...finishing your coffee while it's hot

...keeping up on the snack stock

...a house that's fully potty trained

...on top of all of the school forms

🌱✨️ Good News 🌞⬇️

Luckily, no one ever cares if we're all wearing clean clothes, hangry, pushing a stroller, side saddling a toddler, rushing to the public washrooms, busting out the goldfish crackers.

I've rarely waited in a line. And if you can't vote during school or work hours, pack a bag, make it a picnic and a family adventure — hopefully the snow will be gone by then!

Remember: Bring your Government issued ID to the poll station.

If you're not sure about voting or why it's important, check out Apathy Is Boring and their free resources.

And if you're in Ottawa, I might see you on April 28th as I continue mixing babies and business at my local voting booth.

As always, thank you for reading, supporting this work and advocating for the needs of parents in business settings!

✨ Have a great week/end + stay scrappy 🐌
