By highlighting the stories, traditions, and shared memories that shape Rwanda, the exhibition creates a space for reflection, preservation, and meaningful dialogue. It seeks to connect Rwanda’s past with its present, honoring its legacy while encouraging artists to engage with its cultural roots in innovative and thought-provoking ways.

Artist:Claude Nizeyimana. Nyiramayugi. Wood and Copper. 2025

In the west wing, a solo exhibition "Stillness In Transit" by Alex Peter Idoko is on view. In this exhibition Idoko explores how conditions of tranquility and internal reflection coexist with the continuous transitions of life.

Instead of conceiving stillness as inactivity and transit as movement, this body of work situates both as intertwined conditions that define human resilience and cultural continuity.

The light has a memory. Fire, charcoal, acrylic, and collage on canvas. 2025

Pyrography is at the material core of this work. The practice of image making through pyrography involves carving surfaces through controlled burning. Here, fire operates as an agent of revelation and transformation. Idoko is formulating both vulnerability and permanence embedded in the human condition
