Izere Antoine speaks about the inspiration behind his new body of work, in our recent studio visit. "Streams and Trails" which opens on Saturday, August 12th, at Mitochondria Gallery in Houston, Texas.
Streams and Trails is Izere's second solo exhibition, and a continuation of the conversation from his debut solo exhibition "STRIDE." The excitement surrounding Izere's work continues to grow. The artist made his debut Museum group exhibition " Sounds of Blackness" at the MET Manila in the Philippines (March, 2023). The museum exhibition was curated by Larry Ossei-Mensah.
Izere's works are part of notable collections across the globe such as the Green Art Family Foundation (Dallas, USA), Wright Family Collection (Pennsylvania, USA), Underdog Collection (Italy), Wize-art Collection (Georgia, USA), CEW Collection (Germany), Casauccello Collection (Philippines), Lester Marks Collection (Houston, USA), Tim Tan Collection (Philippines).
Streams and Trails is on view from August 12th to September 2nd, 2023.
