Awanle Ayiboro Hawa Ali (Ghanaian, b. 1997), presents these stories in a series of artworks that take us on a journey of exploration through her personal experiences and those of women around the world. Awanle applies various shades of blue on the skin of her subjects to symbolize freedom from limitations and abuse. The color blue additionally represents royalty in the northern Ghanaian community.
