It's finally here! The Emerging Rebel ebook, book 2 in my Shieldwall Academy series, is out today.

Plus, I successfully arranged for Audible to release the audiobook on the same day. I had my fingers crossed and wasn't sure it would all work out, but it did!

First, though, I have to say thank you to the nine amazing advanced readers who wrote me such incredible reviews. It is making a huge difference as new readers pick up the book, see 5 stars and read well-thought out reviews.

Release Day Statistics - a glimpse

It probably won't surprise you, but I update a spreadsheet every day about some of the metrics for success in the author business.

Here are a few of them for Emerging Rebel's release day:

Day before release:

• 275 pre-orders over the last six months since Awakening Horde came out July '23
• Rank in the entire Amazon store: 125,297
• # of Reviews: 9
• Page reads: 0 (these don't start until release day when readers can check the ebook out in Kindle Unlimited. Authors are paid by the number of pages you read.)

Today (up until 5:00 PM MST):

• 273 sales (mostly pre-orders, though a percentage always don't go through, so some are new purchases.)
• 8 am: rank of 33,515 in the Amazon Store
• 10:13 am: rank of 8,441
• 1 pm: rank of 3,340
• 3:30 pm: rank of 2,188 (this is a ranking of all the ebooks Amazon is currently selling today - so exciting!!)
• Page reads: 12,744 (which means a bunch of people are reading the book today)

So, the best news is the amazing jump in rank. This means a lot of people have checked out the book in Kindle Unlimited and started to read! Yay!
