Hi friends,

My condolences to anyone out there who has ever done a long distance move after living a couple of decades in one place - it's crazy!

And thanks for the awesome tips you emailed me to help me stay sane. :D

Things are getting pretty busy around here and tempers are a bit touchy. The youngest with anxiety oscillates between excitement for the new adventure and sadness over everything we're leaving behind.

We've also mostly finished the paperwork to buy our new home. Hopefully the closing will go through as planned before we load up the first of our moving trucks and begin the long cross-country drive.

And writing? Yeah, it's a fun break to squeeze some in between decluttering and packing. I've got a list down below of how everything is going, along with some fun updates on the long-awaited publication of book 1, Awakening Horde.

This summer is going to be awesome . . . and busy!

Misty's Writing Update

Awakening Horde: Shieldwall Academy Book 1:

• Finished the edits
• Sent off to narrator
• recording should start the end of May
• Hopefully, I can publish BOTH the ebook and audiobook mid/late July.

I'm really excited to see how this launch goes in a new genre for me and my first audiobook! It wouldn't be possible without all your support, especially my Patrons who are funding most of the audiobook! Thank you!

Emerging Rebel: Shieldwall Academy Book 2:

• Finished the first draft
• Uploading chapters to go first to Patreon and then to Royal Road.
• Still need to spend about three weeks to edit it - I'm waiting until after the move

(Suggest a good name): Shieldwall Academy Book 3:

• Just wrote the prologue and first chapter this week.

I need to catch up on some chapters, so I don't get behind with everything going on.

Since I'm publishing three chapters a week over on Royal Road where you can read for free (please leave a nice rating or review!), I chewed through a lot of my pre-written chapters when I took three weeks to edit book 1. Now with the move, I'm struggling to not get further behind.

I might need to pause the chapters on Royal Road for a short break this summer. We'll see.
