Beat the Chill: Easy Ideas to Lift Your Winter Mood! Mental Health Tip 10

Nov 15, 2024 8:46 pm

Hi friends,

First, an update on the twins. They are progressing so well! A little bigger and stronger every day. The biggest twin is spending most of the daylight hours off oxygen and his smaller brother is a day or two behind.

We are all looking forward to babies we can just pick up and walk anywhere in the house without all the tubes and wires. They have also just hit 6 and 7 pounds in weight! Very awesome!

And no, we are not getting enough sleep. (as expected)

So, in keeping with dragging a bit myself as it gets darker and colder here, I've compiled some easy ideas to keep the winter blues at bay.

But first, I've got some great post-apoc deals from some author friends.

Beat the Winter Blues with These Simple Tips!

Winter brings cozy nights and hot drinks, but those shorter days can sometimes bring a dip in mood too. If you’re feeling a little sluggish or down this season, don’t worry—you’re not alone. (Not getting enough sleep can contribute, too!)

Here are some simple, effective ways to boost your energy and keep those winter blues at bay!

  • Get Outside (Even for a Little): Fresh air and natural light, even on cloudy days, can work wonders for your energy and mental clarity. Try a 10-minute walk to lift your mood!
  • Try a Happy Light: Blue light therapy lamps are a great way to get some bright, energizing light into your day, especially if you’re working inside. Just 20-30 minutes a day with one can help you feel more awake and positive.
  • Keep Moving: A bit of exercise boosts endorphins, helping improve both mood and energy. Even a short stretch or dance break can lift your spirits!
  • Stay Connected: Catch up with friends or family, even if it’s just a quick call or message. Keeping in touch helps us feel more supported and upbeat.

I hope you find ways to stay cozy and happy this season! If you have any favorite techniques that help you in the more dreary seasons, please share!

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your November!
