Need some Comfort in Crisis? Be Prepared Tip 23
Jul 05, 2024 7:55 pm
Hi friends,
I'm very excited to welcome all the new ARC (advanced review copy) readers to the team who replied to last week's invitation.
If you missed it, you still have time to email me. I'm working to get the early review copy of Elemental Battleground ready to send out next week.
Basically, you get the book for free and then write up an honest review for Amazon before the book goes live on Aug. 2nd. Seeing reviews really helps readers take a chance on a new book.
In similar news, I finally got the audiobook approved and successfully up as a pre-order on Audible. I've tried to do this with past books, but this is the first time I've been successful.

Thank you to everyone who spends a credit on this!

Need some Comfort in Crisis?
Be Prepared Tip 23
Here’s a simple tip that is often overlooked while preparing for an emergency:
Add a Comfort Kit.
What is it?
- In stressful situations, small comforts can make a big difference, especially with children or someone injured or scared. Create a comfort kit with items that can help soothe and calm you and your loved ones.
What should I put in it?
- a favorite book.
- a deck of cards
- a small stuffed animal
- soothing tea bags, hot chocolate, instant coffee, bouillon cubes, or other supplies to make a hot drink.
- a family photo.
- favorite snacks or candy that won't go bad.
- e-reader with preloaded books (and a solar charger for when it dies)
- puzzle books (we enjoy getting ones like Sudoku from the Dollar Tree if you're in the U.S.)
- coloring books with colored pencils (NOT crayons. These melt in hot cars. Eek!)
- Ear plugs
What about you and your family? What would bring a bit of emotional relief and sense of normalcy during a challenging emergency?
Send me your ideas and I'll add them to the list!
Stay prepared and enjoy a good book this week!
- Misty :)
