🌎 Where in the World?! Wednesday - Feb 24, 2021

Coming to you this week from 📍 Seattle, WA
Hi -
👋🏽 We're back this week with some quick updates and a whirlwind recap of the last two weeks in Phoenix. As we watched parts of the country get hammered by winter weather, it reminded us of how much of a privilege mobility is. This privilege is not taken lightly, and our thoughts and prayers are with those still getting back up on their feet after the impact of the winter weather.
❄ We discovered an awesome doc online with a massive compilation of resources for those in need in Texas. For others in a position to contribute to the recovery effort, it outlines a variety of ways to lend a hand. Please check it out! It has helped us decide where/how to support.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming:
📜 New blog posts ~
- Surprise! We flew back home to Seattle this past weekend to help family out and are continually delighted by how much care and effort airlines are putting into keeping passengers safe (Delta in particular... not sponsored!) Check out our experience with air-travel during the pandemic.
- While we are back home for a few weeks, we're reminiscing some of our favorite nearby spots for exquisite 'staycations'. Check out where to go within a short drive of Seattle for a getaway, day trip, or a longer (and well-deserved) retreat!
📺 TV we've been obsessed with ~
- Reality TV is not usually my cup of tea (speaking only for myself... Midori would insist that I clarify that). But for two seasons now, Undercover Billionaire has defied the odds and has kept both of us hooked. It depicts an awesome journey of hustle, determination, and grit that leaves two Capricorns like us smiling after every episode.
- Marvel fans... assemble? I'll admit, I'm unhealthily obsessed with the MCU. But Disney has really delivered with WandaVision. The story is captivating from the start. We were confused, intrigued, and (by episode 4) MIND-BLOWN with how creative and brilliantly-executed the show is.
🧠 What we've been learning ~
- Midori has been going deep on all things digital marketing and automation. This has been partly to translate her professional knowledge from her day job to side-projects, but also now officially in service of a new client (thanks to a dear friend in Phoenix)! More on this side hustle soon 😀
- Predictably, I'm sticking with tech. I've been a fan of no/low-code tools like Notion and Airtable for years. Now, I've been introduced to Coda in the past few weeks. It's a more recent intrigue that has taken me down a few too many rabbit holes already 🧐
🎧 What we've been listening to ~
- A stark departure from the Latin music we shared two weeks ago and have been vibing to, but worth a listen: Florida Georgia Line's recent collab with Nelly brought us a total banger. Take a listen to "Lil Bit" and tell us your foot isn't tapping within 20 seconds!
- Last newsletter, we teased our entry onto Clubhouse, the new live-audio platform taking the world by storm. Honestly, we've gone off the deep end. Tuning into various Clubhouse rooms has now taken up much of the time podcasts used to fill. Some of our favorite Clubs include: Human Behavior, Salty Vagabonds, Braincare Club, and Entrepreneurs on Etsy. Looking forward to hosting a room for all of you soon!
📷 Highlight from our Instagram ~ some of you have probably tried out the Instagram 'Guides' feature. We've been enjoying experimenting with it and have put together a few (hopefully useful 🤞🏽) guides on cheap eats, gifts, coffee, and so much more. Check it out and drop us a line on Instagram or via e-mail with some feedback!
🙏🏽 As always, thanks for reading and sending us your comments. It makes our day. We'll see you again in 2 weeks!
From the desert to the coast,
Akaash (& Midori)
